
Jacob Narverud is originally from Meriden, Kansas. He holds a Master's Degree in Conducting from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Emporia State University. Jake is an active composer, arranger, conductor, teacher, and performer. He has appeared in numerous Musical Theatre and Opera productions, continuously performs in a wide variety of ensembles, and enjoys work as a guest conductor and clinician.
Jake is the Director of "Allegro Con Spirito", Kansas City's Young Men's Ensemble. He is the Founding Artistic Director of the Tallgrass Chamber Choir as well as Amphion, a Collegiate Male Vocal Ensemble. As a champion of new music, Jake is continuously promoting new works by composers and singer/songwriters of his generation and is the Editor-in-cheif of Kansas City Music Publishing Co.
Narverud has performed in various venues across the United States and abroad, including concerts in Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and England. In 2010, Narverud conducted the Emporia State University A Cappella Choir in performance at Bath Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London as part of the American Celebration of Music in Britain Concert Series. Jake has prepared choruses for numerous orchestral conductors, including Michael Stern, Jack Everly, and Robert Bode.
